Thanks Marie for the suggestion. I was thinking of something like putting the gloves around randomly, then taking some lace and some antique looking buttons. Ideas are just running thru my little brain!! Ha, ha!! Thanks again.

Thank you for your comments on your childhood memories. Isn't it amazing how one's memories can spark those of someone else! I'd forgotten about stores being closed on Sundays. I used to help a friend deliver Sunday newspapers. With everything locked up tight, it was like the village had been abandoned!
As I recall, the merchants in our area also closed on Wednesday afternoons so they could do their own 'shopping' at the wholesalers.
I just wanted to invite you to join my new Yahoo group, "Longing For The Good Old Days." I have many boards set up (homemaking, crafts, recipes, gardening, thrift, nostalgia, travels, etc.) and I'd love to have you come and be a part of it!
We are a group of ladies who long for life as it was in the good old days. Days when neighbors visited across the fence, friends came for coffee and family lived just around the corner. Days when you spent Sunday mornings in church and Sunday evenings gathered around the dinner table enjoying a homemade meal. Days when neighborhoods were filled with the sounds of children laughing, dogs barking and Uncle Joe playing his harmonica out on the front porch. Days when you knew how to make your own fun, your own clothes, your own bread. Days when a penny earned meant that somebody had worked mighty hard for it and it was spent with the utmost care. Days when home was, indeed, where your heart was. The ways of yesteryear may be only a distant memory for many, but for some those ideals live on in the here and now. This group is for women who value simplicity, hard work, faith, goodwill and community. We are a network of friends who share our lives, our families, our dreams, our ideas and our tears. We are all ages and come from all walks of life, but we all have one thing in common...our longing for life as it was lived in the good old days.
