It was from 86-89 ?? and I asked him about it now but he really doesn't remember too much about it. He did tell me he had a good time when he went , but can't really say now after all these years what it was like. He used to fish here in Homer and now he golfs. He had a real good friend who used to golf with him and also was our mechanic and he died a year ago feb. 2009, He had golfed with him for 5yrs and was younger than my husband .
No relation to the McLaughlin who is a retired general, but my husband did serve his country in the Air force. betty; ▶ Reply to This

ALWAYS SOME GOOD FISHING UP HERE.. MY DAUGHTER AND HER HUSBAND SPEND A LOT OF TIME ON THE AUSABLE FISHING.. AND CAMPING THEY REALLY ENJOY IT. YOU WILL HAVE TO TAKE A RIDE UP THIS WAY SOME TIME..
THE GENERAL WOULD BE AIR FORCE ALSO.. IT WAS WURTSMITH AIR FORCE BASE HERE IT CLOSED YEARS BACK.. AND SOME OF THE PEOPLE STATIONED HERE STAYED OR RETIRED HERE.. SOME OF THE PLANES FROM HERE DID THE IN FLIGHT REFUELING.. IT WAS INTERESTING.. THEY HAVE TURNED THE BASE INTO PRIVATE HOUSING AND THERE ARE SOME BUSINESSES HERE TOO..; ▶ Reply to This
